Y Coast – Kuomboka 2026
Western Province–based artist Y Coast returns with a brand new cultural anthem titled “Kuomboka 2026,” a song released in honor of the annual Kuomboka Ceremony celebrated by the Lozi people of Western Province. True to tradition, Y Coast once again delivers a soundtrack that reflects pride, heritage, and unity. The Kuomboka Ceremony is one of Zambia’s most significant cultural events, symbolizing the movement of the Litunga from the flooded plains of Lealui to higher ground at Limulunga. Scheduled to take place on 28th March 2026, the ceremony draws national and international attention, and Y Coast’s latest release perfectly complements the spirit of the occasion.
“Kuomboka 2026” also marks Y Coast’s first official single for the year 2026, setting the tone for what promises to be another consistent year for the artist. The song blends traditional influence with a modern Zambian sound, making it both culturally meaningful and enjoyable for a wide audience. Over the years, Y Coast has made notable contributions to the Zambian music industry. While his popularity may be strongest in Western Province, he commands a loyal and powerful fanbase. His work has earned him multiple award nominations and wins, further cementing his role as a cultural voice through music.
