Generally, there are several talented Zambian rappers that have gained a fan base filled with supporters, and doing well for themselves. Nevertheless, the fact remains that some rappers are better than others, and what we will do here is to talk about the top ten amongst them.
1. Chef 187
Seriously should this even be a vote Chef 187 is the best rapper in Zambia and he is one of the best rappers in the world. I can assure he is better than all those 8 week mumble rappers. Chef 187 has the Country moving to his tune and that is one of the best tunes to move to.
I mean, this guy is unbelievable. You can feature him in any song and he will kill. This guy really deserve to be in the top ten. He is really good.
Chef 187 is easily the best lyricist in the country. other artist’s might be trendy but they are simply nowhere near Chef 187 level when it comes to musical talent and lyrical rapping.
2. Slap Dee
When it comes to creating energetic hip-hop music, Slap Dee is a topper on the list. This talented rapper/ Signer has been in the Zambian music industry for more than a decade. Since Slap Dee rose to the limelight in 2006, he has created massive hits and collaborations, winning awards and gaining continental recognition as well, Having won multiple awards since his debut in 2006, he is often regarded one of the pioneers of Zambian hip-hop.
3. Jemax A.K.A Ba Chilolo
James Kawele, professionally known as Jemax or sometimes called Ba Chilolo. is currently one of the best rappers in Zambian music industry with many hit songs and hot features and lyrical punchlines to his name. Many Jemax songs become very popular and trendy online with a great number of streaming and downloads.
The act got into the music industry as a mainstream artist in a very convincing way, Jemax firstly released a music video called – Powerful which later on brought him out of the mud as he struggled himself out to get noticed by the Zambian music fans and finally scooped the title.

6. Muzo A.K.A Alphonso
Musonda Chishimba, popularly recognized as Muzo A.K.A Alphonso, is a very talented Zambian rapper who started doing music at a young age. He recorded his first at the age of 13 at a small studio within his neighborhood, not so many people still talk about Muzo aka Alphosno even those that he used to give free money in clubs and at his home village, But he is still considered as one of the best Zambia rapper.
7. Y Celeb
Super government CEO/Front liner – Webster Chikabala professionally known as Y Celeb, is one of Zambia’s most relevant hip-hop and most influential artist in the country. Y Celeb He’s one of the successful rapper and songwriter who has built an amazing career for himself. For more than 8 Years, he has been making quality music and releasing hit records.
Y-Celeb grew up in Chimwemwe suburbs. Y Celeb together with his childhood friends Sub Sabala and Ray D together started making music about 5 years ago and later formed a group that they would later name 408 Empire.
8. Apa Ni Chanda From (Chanda Na Kay) Music Duo
Chanda Na Kay is a group of two talented Zambian rappers that have amassed millions of fans across the country. Zambia and other country’s, the duo Chanda Na Kay that makes up this group, have been making rap music together since some years now, so far, Apa Ni Chanda from the music duo he has released some many hit singles.
9. Xaven The Kopala Queen
Zambian songstress Xaven, popularly known as Kopala. Her real name is Rachel but she chose Xaven to personify high attitude which is what gives her confidence. Many of Xaven songs become very popular and trendy online with a great number of streaming and downloads, Xaven is currently riding high with her new song “Undisputed” produced by Nexus Music Entertainment. The singer says she always wants to do music that people can relate to because this is what her legacy as a musician will be about when she hangs her musical boots.
